Hey blog. I'm back!
i just decided to come here and talk, well its 11.16 at night and im listening to Port Blue.
im also waiting for some iTunes stuff to be downloaded and updated, so yea.
Sorry, i dont really know what to say. Just kinda typing out what i feel like here, y'know?
So... im listening to Port Blue now lol. Can i just take a moment now to say (or maybe even rant) on modern "music".
"In my opinion, there is a huge lack of imaginative, unconventional music being created by artists today and what little there is, goes widely unappreciated by the masses. 'Port Blue' is my attempt at re-creating the music I want to hear and the emotions I want to feel."
"If by chance you ever feel as though you’ve come to know these songs, please consider yourself a friend because in a manner of speaking, you know me. This music is my heart and soul. This is who I am." (Adam R. Young, 2006)
This is why I love Adam Young. No homo, but this guy knows how to truly touch hearts with his music.
Owl City, Sky Sailing, Port Blue, Seagull Orchestra, Insect Airport, etc. Plus I love the fact that he's so musically diverse.
From his lyrics and songwriting being so creative and imaginative, to the vibes and emotions that are instilled by his use of instrumentals,
I highly doubt I will ever find someone as brilliant yet humble like him as a musician.
Instead, mainstream music nowadays are total crap. Sometimes it blows my mind to think more people appreciate
music that almost solely rely on how catchy they are, or artists writing trash lyrics just to get attention and try to be famous.
I mean, its all about clubbing, drinking, sex, putchyo hands up, be wild, have fun, puppy love, and catchy beats, bass drops, and what not.
Doesnt it all seem so repetitive after awhile? Its like a whole similar mentality is slowly being engrained into the minds of these people that listen to this type of music.
Its sad to think that the masses would rather be like that than to let a certain kind of music let them tell their own story, instead of "yeah put your hands up" or "love you like a love song baby".
Sorry, maybe im being biased, but thats just how i view today's music. Its lacking imagination, its lacking just simple honesty.
I just dont appreciate mainstream cause almost all of it is nonsense.
Sigh.
